GREENVILLE, NC (WITN) – A biennial continuing education conference is coming to the east for the first time.

The Clinical Ethics Network of North Carolina is hosting the Ethical Issues in Caring for the Underserved: The Vulnerable, Marginalized, and Forgotten conference Friday, September 20.

Dr. Clint Parker, who is an associate professor at the Brody School of Medicine at ECU , says the goal is to formulate strategies to help resolve or mitigate the ethical issues that arise in caring for underserved populations, such as undocumented immigrants, prisoners, veterans, the homeless and others.

The conference is open to anyone interested in learning more, not just those in the healthcare profession.

It will take place at the Eastern Area Health Education Center on Arlington Boulevard from 8:30 am- 4:30 pm.
